The Nero d’Avola grape is increasingly popular in the UK and with this red wine from Australia, McPherson have certainly hit the target of creating a light and smooth, easy drinking bottle.
A medium bodied red wine, Bella Luna gives you notes of red fruits and juicy plum on the nose. In taste it is fruit first with some acidity that is balanced by just enough weight and a hint of cherry tartness. This wine is a great all rounder that you can enjoy on its own as well as with food, it’s certainly a wine we highly recommend.
Nero d’Avola Food Pairings
Serve this smooth red wine with a succulent steak or tender roast beef. It would also work well with a lamb curry or a warming winter evening meal like a casserole or stew.
This smooth red wine should be served at room temperature. Open the bottle an hour or so before serving to allow it to aerate, or transfer to a decanter. Serve in an extra large glass to give plenty of space for the surface of the wine to release all those delicious aromas.
