Not typically two things you'd see together, Tartarus combine brewing with their love of mythology, basing each and every beer off a mythological figure with it's own backstory. Based in Horsforth, West Yorkshire, Tartarus are consistently releasing beers which are remarkable in flavour with their focus being on European styles.
As well as the quality within the can (or bottle) Tartarus beers come alongside some of the most phenomenal artwork we have seen in brewing with each design taking their digital artist Sam about a week to complete. Considering the detail and attention put into the outside of the package, you can only imagine the quality of what's inside.
In store we have just got our hands on their first run of 440ml cans, Inari: a Jasmine Rice Lager and Rearea: a Strawberry, Lime & Coconut Sour. The backstories and connection to mythology with these beers is truly a remarkable effort, we all know how hard it is to create and name a beer, Tartarus have added the challenge of linking their beers to a myth or legend as well.
We have no doubt we'll be seeing many more of their cans in our fridges, but make sure to grab some from their first can run while they're still fresh!
