The ‘Grapetrotting’ has begun!
This month we held our first official tasting evening and we were delighted with the way it played out. Australia was the first stop on our tour around the wine world. On offer were six different Australian wines; from our full bodied MWC Shiraz to a peachy Silver Creek Viognier, as well as a touch of class in our two sparkling wines, including McGuigan’s Sparkling Shiraz. We couldn’t have an Australian evening without some Bush Tucker treats either which included some delightful Wild Boar sausages and Kanagroo meatballs!
Our tasting evenings are a great way to learn a little about how to taste wine, how it is produced and why it tastes the way it does, as well as exploring new tastes. We couldn’t have been happier with the atmosphere, which was far from the stuffy, stereotype of tasting sessions you see on TV but much more like a casual evening with friends.
Our next stop is a giant leap from the land of the great barrier reef back to somewhere closer to home…England. We’ve been hearing a lot of negativity about English wines and we’re looking forward to debunking this stigma and showing just how good our home grown produce is. There’s going to be some top quality on offer from the south coast, as well as our customary 5% tasting evening discount on EVERYTHING in store.
We’re selling tickets now and they are going fast. If you fancy trying what England has to offer in the world of wine, why not join us on Thursday 25th June 6pm-8pm. To book your ticket just ask at the barrel, call 01207 523555 or email email@example.com.
